After playing Dota 2 for 11 hours (which is not so much compared to most people), here’s my take.
In Dota 1, I played using Rikimaru or Sniper. However, in Dota 2, I started with Sven, a tank. Well, I’m not so much of a good tanker, in fact, I never played a tank before.
So, as you can imagine, we loss the first game. The next game, I tried using Rikimaru because I used to play with it before. It doesn’t turn out that bad and at least I’m not the feeder. Of course there were people cursing and saying “noob” here and there, but just keep moving forward and don’t bother with it.
I managed to get few kills and assists in the second game and to my surprise, you can actually view the replay of any matches that you played previously by downloading it from the Dota 2 server without any recording device. In League of Legends, you will need another separate software to record the game and view it later.
In order to view the replay, just open your Dota profile after launching the Dota 2 and choose any matches that you wish to watch.
The highlight feature when viewing the replay is very good. It shows you where most of the action were without viewing the whole replay. You have the option to view the whole game or just watch the highlight.
At the end of every game, players will be rewarded with skins or treasure chest. I don’t know how the reward system works because not every players will receive the rewards. You will not know if the game you’re playing will have any rewards or not. Sometimes, other players will get the rewards but not you or most of the players.
I wanted to do Dota 2 vs LoL but there’s another complete article from Gamespot which I recommend:
http://asia.gamespot.com/features/dota-2-through-the-eyes-of-a-league-of-legends-player-6372137/
If you’re a LoL player, read it and you will know the difference between both of it. In my opinion, both have their own distinct advantage, the Dota 2 is basically almost the same as Dota 1 but with a steep learning curve and more complex. LoL (League of Legends) is fun to play and have their own feel.
If you’re a LoL player, I’m sure you will Dota 2.
