I just saw the Razer Edge Pro Gaming Tablet and with the price ($1299.99), it’s actually a bit expensive. If you could choose between Alienware M14x and the Razer Edge Pro Gaming Tablet, which one should you choose? Before I give my own opinion, I suggest you to check the specs for the Razer tablet below:

Processor Intel Core i5 Dual core w/ Hyper Threading Base
1.7GHz / Turbo 2.6GHz
Memory 4GB DDR3 (2x2GB 1600MHz)
Video Intel HD4000 (DX11)
NVIDIA GT 640M LE (1GB DDR3, Optimus Technology)
Display 10.1” (IPS, 1366×768)
10-point capacitive touch
Operating System Windows 8
Storage 64GB SSD (SATA-III)#
Network Intel WLAN (802.11b/g/n + BT4)
Others Stereo speakers
Codec supports 7.1 (via HDMI)
HD Webcam (front-facing, 2MP)
Array microphones
Dolby Home Theater v4
USB 3.0 x1 (green, SuperSpeed)
Audio jack (3.5mm, 4-pole, stereo out / mic in)

I copied the specs directly from the Razer website here=> http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-systems/razer-edge/

Compare this specs with Alienware M14x specs:

Processor 3rd Generation Intel Core i5-3210M Turbo 3.1GHz
Memory 6GB DDR3 (1x2GB, 1x4GB 1600MHz)
Video NVIDIA GT 650M (1GB DDR5, Optimus Technology)
Display 14.0” High Def (1366×768)
Operating System Windows 7
Storage 1 TB SATA
Network Integrated 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet NIC(Standard)
Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 2230 With Bluetooth 4.0 (Standard)
Intel Advanced-N WiFi Link 6250 a/g/n 2×2 MIMO Technology with WiMax and Bluetooth 4.0
60GHz WirelessHD Wireless Display – HDMI fidelity over wireless (Optional)

With almost the same price (starting from $999 for Alienware M14x), which would you choose? I think I’m going to go with Alienware M14x (Amazon:Alienware M14X 14″ Laptop (2.0 GHz Intel Core i7-2630QM Processor, 8 GB RAM, 750 GB Hard Drive, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) Black)  . So far I have no info on the Razer Edge Pro Gaming Tablet battery. How long it will last when playing games, I don’t know. But I think a cheaper Google Nexus 7 (Amazon:Google Nexus 7 Tablet (16 GB)) is a better alternatives than the Razer tablet.

You might not be able to play your usual games with the Google Nexus 7 but at least you can play other Android games. It’s not that I don’t like Razer, I do own some of their products and love it. I just think the price is not suitable for me. Oh, and by the way, accessories for the Razer Edge Pro Gaming Tablet are sold separately. So, you have to buy the controller, keyboard and the docking station separately.

But, it’s still a good gaming tablet. It’s just that I’ll not going to buy it except if they reduce the price and with the same budget, I’ll go with either Alienware M14x or the cheaper Google Nexus 7. Just my 2 cents.
