I just read a blog entry by Christopher Null about QWERTYjacking. It’s a term where people can record what you are typing if you’re using a wireless keyboard because the encryption between the keyboard and the base are very weak and the hacker can easily break the encryption.

The hacker can record everything that you type when they are nearby by hijacking your keyboard wireless network and it’s very dangerous if you’re in a sensitive environment where people might steal your password.

So, if you’re in a sensitive environment, it’s better for you to use a non-wireless keyboard to ensure your password safety. It’s the same thing at your home wireless network. If you don’t secure your wireless network, someone might take this advantage to hack your network.

How would you like to create a strong password for free?

I just stumble upon this website that generates strong passwords for free. You don’t have to worry about creating a strong password. You can use this website service.

It can create 64 random hexadecimal characters, 63 random printable ASCII characters and 63 random alpha numberic characters and everytime you refresh the website, a new and strong password will be created. So, you can create as many passwords as you want.

You don’t need to use all 64/63 characters, just copy and paste any part of it that you like and use software such as RoboForm or KeePass to manage it because I don’t think you can remember all the passwords.

If the website ask for email address, use or create another email address. This is to prevent the hackers from getting your password and email. If the hackers can gain access to one website that you’re a member of, they will know your email and password instantly. They can use it to gain access to another websites that you’re in or they can try it to open your email. Don’t use the same username and password as your paypal or any payment processor in any websites. This will lead to bigger problems.

3. Always make sure the Internet Explorer or your browser didn’t save any password. This will make it easier for anyone that has access to your computer to use it and open your account on any websites.
